The question of players arriving at the sports ground without passes was referred to by the chairman (Mr. J. C. Cusack) at the meeting of the Wellington Women's Hockey Association last night. If players arrived at the ground without passes, said Mr. Cusapk. both players and gatekeeper were placed in an awkward position. He expressed the hope that teams would pay more attention to this question in the future. Advice was received from the New Zealand Women's Hockey Association that the theory examination for umpires would be held on Tuesday. July 20. at 7.30 p.m.. the paper being a two-hour one. Entries would "close on July 6. Candidates might sit for the practical test on payment of the fee. It was decided to recommend Miss M. Wilkins as practical examiner for the New Zealand umpires' examinations. Players in the seven-a-side tournament tomorrow are advised to bring their own lunches to the ground, as refreshments are difficult to obtain.
