There are some exceptionally good fields, which should provide great racing. The Sapling Stakes has given this meeting a special importance lor years past and the juvenile event is arousing unusual interest' this year. N. Aynsley, of Christchurch, \ for • 550 guineas, and had his early education and racing under A. McAulay at Riccarton. He was purchased by Mr. J. Richardson, of Dunedin. in the early spring, and remanied with McAulay until a few months ago, when he was taken to Melbourne by S. G. Ware, who thus had his first success since he resumed training. Ware's apprentice W. Jenkins also returned 'to the winning list.
