MELBOURNE, June 7. On the Melbourne Stock Exchange today the markets were generally quiet, with brokers disinclined to trade in the absence of metal quotes and advices from London. Sales:—Commercial Bank of Australia, 19s 2d; National Bank, £5 paid, £7 8s; G. J. Coles, £5 9s 6d; DunlopPerdriau, 828; Y*rr* Falls, rights, 8s 6d. I Electrolytic Zinc, 55s 9d, pref., 57s i 9d; Mount Morgan, 13s 4d; Mount Lyell, 445; North Broken Hill. 745; Broken Hill South, 50s 6d; Emperor, 16s 3d; Loljma, 19s 6d. SYDNEY, June 7. On the Sydney Stock Exchange today investment business was again restricted and although values were irregular, the market tone was healthy. Greater interest was shown in gold shares owing to the announcement that the' British authorities contemplated ending the gold panic.
