HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE

MAY BE DECLARED VACANT

ACTION IN EUROPE

NEW YORK, June 6.

The manager of the German heavyweight boxer Max Schmeling announces that he will meet Joe Louis in New York in September if the latter succeeds in winning James Braddock's title.

Schmeling sailed for Southampton to see the match between Tommy Farr, the British champion, and Walter Neusel (Germany). If Farr wins, the German and British Boxing Boards will be asked to declare the heavyweight title vacant, thus paving the way for a match between Schmeling and Farr.

It Was reported on Saturday that Braddock had been fined and suspended by the New York Commission for failing to appear for his title bout against Schmeling, who beat Louis last year.
