The cold snap during the weekend included a fall of snow on Saturday afternoon, covering many of the higher hills round the city. This view was taken at the back of Karori, and shows the Makara Hills with their mantle of white.

SELF-HELP CHILDREN'S PARTY MEETS WITH TREMENDOUS SUCCESS.—Although the Self-Help Children's Party was originally arranged to be held at the Regent Theatre (top), the demand was so great that the Opera House Theatre was completely filled as well. Hundreds of happy children were entertained by the 2ZB Children's Session personalities, Dorothy and Benno, and by a showing of pictures. Tickets were donated by Self-Help and distributed by the Smith Family to the children of the unemployed.-P.B.A.
