MARIST WIN HEALTHILY

Football of a surprisingly high standard considering the state of the ground and ..ball was offered by Marist and Technical Old Boys on the No. 2 ground at the.Basiri Reserve. The ball-control was generally excellent on both sides, the forwards often playing brilliantly; but Marisfs better combination increased a- 2-all draw at the spell to 7-3 by the end of the game. The brisk pace set was commensurate with the temperature, and the game was studded with thrills. M Quirke opened for Manst after a quarter of an hour, but the score was evened by Liddicoat almost immediately. Kershaw added another well on in the half, and then Wrigley made it a draw by half-time. In the second half Marists staying power asserted itself, goals going to Eager, Leonard (2), R. Quirke, and Kershaw. An excellent goalwas scored by Wrigley for Technical just before the whistle. The game ended: Marist 7, Techmcal Old Boys 3.
