PETONE V. MIRAMAR

In the Petone-Miramar match at Petone the play was mostly among the forwards. Petone, on promotion, did well. Several minutes after the commencement N. Edwards (Petone) cut through and passed to Tullock, who slid over near the corner. Miramar had dffficulty in keeping the Petone pack out of their twenty-five, but in the second half the Miramar forwards improved greatly. In efforts to stem the attacks Petone kept feeding their backs, who, in counter-attacks, had success when Greenstone, receiving from Edwards, cut through and scored, Clarke converting. A minute before time Ashton scored a try from a melee near the posts. The final score was: Petone 11, Miramar 0. The referee was Mr. D. C. Lawson.
