KING AS PATRON

Since the death of King ' George V the New Zealand Returned Soldiers' Association has been without a patron, but the Governor-General (Viscount Galway) has now advised the association that his Majesty King George VI will be pleased to extend his patronage to the association. When his Majesty was in New Zealand as Duke of York he was made an honorary life member of the association and was presented with the badge of the association in gold. His membership card has since been framed and is hung in the headquarters office of the association.
