DEATH OF CHILD
(To the Editor.)
Sir,—Your report of today!s inquest contains several statements which I wish to correct. It is obvious that a case of scalding can be treated in a private hospital—l said that it was more advisable to send a septic case to the public hospital. I did not for one moment suggest that the treatment in the public hospital is better than that of Lewisham; I can from experience bear testimony to the excellence of the treatment received in that institution. Moreover, the word "exhilaration" was not used by me. I said that the patient was excited—in a state of nervous exaltation.—l am, etc.,
GEO. R. COTTON, M.8., Ch.M. June 4.
