TRIO OF THRILLERS
In "Who Killed Lord Brixham?" Georges Dejean tells a first-rate French mystery story, the reader being left guessing until the last page or two as to the real facts of the case. France is also largely the scene of "What's At the End?", by Leslie Beresford. In this story eight people, mostly complete strangers to each other, find themselves beneficiaries under a will. Sinister circumstances find them brought' together in an old French chateau where lurks an elusive Chinaman. To reveal what is at the end would be unfair to the prospective reader..
Another Herbert Jenkins publication is "The Notorious Miss Walters," by Sefton Kyle. Miss Walters is loved by a millionaire departmental store owner, but does not return his affections. He shoots himself, leaves her all his money, and starts the ball rolling, for it is not long before a murder charge is hanging over the head of the notorious Miss Walters.
