UPPER HUTT WARRIORS.
Warriors A met Warriors B on the ladies' ground at Maidstone Park last week under the worst possible ground conditions. The field was little better than a bog, the ball often being lost in the mud and in holes. As a result the game was considerably slowed up. The A team won 3-nil. E. C, Brown (right-inner) scored the first goal and C Scholes (centre forward) the other two, For Warriors A J. Collie played goal in the absence of Williams, and proved satisfactory in tho position, stopping all that came his way. Good work was performed by Jim Brown, Scholes, and McGhie in the forward line, but they need to ease up on "sticks." John Brown and E. Kirk played safe games in the back line, but were penalised several times for obstructions. McKenzie and Burrell (wings) did well, but felt the drag of the heavy ground. The half line, Hazelwood, Sutherland, and Tranter, worked hard and broke up repeated attacks by the B team. For Warriors B Patterson and Harris (backs) and Murry in goal were the mainstays of the rear division, the halfline being very weak. But for this fault the game would have been a draw. The centre-forward and two inners, Lowry, Auckram, and Hunt respective ly played good hockey, but were frequently offside and ruined B's chances on several- occasions. Freeman and Louper (wings) put in gome useful work, the latter being unlucky not to score. The halves, Stewart and Barnes, arc improving, but were repeatedly out of position, thus throwing too much on Clark at centre.
