HIGH TEST WORKS WELL

Though he was a disappointment to his connections at Foxton, High Test has been working better than ever on the New Plymouth tracks this week, and it is now probable that he will make the trip to Wanganui for the second day next Wednesday. He is engaged in the hack distance event, which carries a trophy of a gold cup valued at £60, besides £175 in specie for the winner. High Test really did not go a bad race at Foxton, particularly as he was having his first outing since early in February. He took on the open seven field and made up a lot of ground late to finish a good sixth in the field of ten, not far behind Hunting Lodge arid Sir Nigel. This four-year-old fullbrother to Tahurangi showed excellent form earlier in the season, especially in heavy going, and he has also wort beyond a mile. During the present week he has been revelling in the heavy stuff at his home track.
