PIONEER CLUB

MUSICAL AFTERNOON

Masses of bronze 'chrysanthemums'. Iceland poppies, and autumn-hued hydrangeas brightened the Pioneer Club rooms yesterday afternoon, and these, combined with, the warmth of glowing radiators, dispelled all effects of chill weather outside.: The occasion was the monthly social afternoon of Pioneer Club members, who were entertained by the Singing Circle, and various instrumental items were also given. Mrs. A. S. Mitchell, who received the ; guests, wore a blue woollen suit and a matching blue felt hat. The club president (Miss Amy Kane) welcomed several new members- and afternoon tea was served.

The musical programme was given by the following:—Miss Ormi Reid, Mrs. Walter Duncan, the singing circle, Mesdames Goodson and Eastwood, Mrs. Ginn and Miss Nora Gray, playing the accompaniments.- . ; ■. ■
