In. the-' Supreme Court: his- Honour Mr. Justice Kennedy made an order today for removal to the ; Court' of Appeal proceedings instituted to determine the validity. of the: registration. of the. Otago-Clerical Workers' Union. The Arbitration Court recently. held that the Stock and. Station Agents' Clerical Employees' Society. should be included ill the general clerical union and declined it registration as' a.se'pa--rate union.'.. . ' . :. " ,
Mr. J. F, B. Stevenson,', Wellington, who represented,the Stock.and Station Agents' Clerical: Employees' Union, stated that the grounds for asking removal Ho the Court of Appeal were the magnitude a,nd the public importance of the questions involved. He said there would be no opposition to such removal. The case' affected the validity .of, all clerical unions, registered in New' Zealand,' the membership, of which was 20,000. . Both'in,1 law. and in fact the matter was very ( important.
