MONTS. June 3.
Waving their acknowledgment to farewell cheers, the Duke and Duchess of Windsor drove off from the Chateau de Cande escorted by a police car and four motor-cyclists. For three miles from Monts the. road was lined on botn sides with mobile guards spaced at intervals of 15; yards. The bridal car was f»llowed by a luggage van.
The cars proceeded to Larochemigennes, a small wayside station, where the Duke and Duchess of Windsor were expected to board an express shortly before midnight, en route to Wasserleonburg for their honeymoon.
The Duchess's going-away costume was a dark blue coat and skirt with a printed blue and white flowered blouse.-
Dr. Mercier reveals that the marriage record, which will be kept in the official archives at Monts, was signed by the bride and bridegroom in French: "Edward, Due de Windsor," and" "Wallis, Duchesse de Windsor."
