MILITARY STAR
(To the Editor.)
, Sir,—l would like to add to a letter by "Digger" in "The Post" of May 20, regarding the 1914-15 Star. If I remember rightly, men of the 3rd and 4th Battalions N.Z.R.B. enlisted and were called into camp early in the spring of 1915. Owing to a hitch occurring in not having a special Rifle Brigade training manual, these battalions were detained in camp and sailed early in January, 1916. The 9th Reinforcements who enlisted-and were called up after the 3rd and 4th Battalions, having no hitch in their training, left just before the New Year, 1915-16. These men received the Star. Through no fault of their own, the Rifle Brigade men were thus disqualified from obtaining the Star, although justly entitled to same. Perhaps the R.S.A. could take this up.—l am, etc.,
ANOTHER DIGGER, N.Z.R.B.
