REDUCTION COMING

HUTT POWER CHARGES

An indication that a reduction in the price of electricity could be expected was given at the meeting of the Hutt Valley Electric Power Board yesterday afternoon.

In seconding the adoption of the general manager's annual report, Mr. P.' Dowse said that a report dealing with a reduction in the price of electricity should be brought down to the next meeting. Reductions had been made, but there was a profit of £15,000. The small consumers had not received a great deal of benefit.

The chairman (Mr. A. W. Press) said bo agreed with practically everything that Mr. Dowse had said. During the past week he had conferred with !he engineer and general manager fMr. E. F.. Hollands) on this subject, When the estimates were framed there would be a reduction in the rates that would satisfy practically all concerned.
