PLUNKET DANCE
NOAIO TOWN HALL CROWDED
The Ngaio Town Hall was- crowded last night when the local branch of the Plunket Society held a dance. There were about 200 people present, among them being Mr. R. A. Wright, M.P. for the district.
There was a delightfully bright atmosphere in the hall, where the society's colours, blue, green, and gold, were prominent in the scheme of decoration. Suspended from the centre of the ceiling and connected to the walls with radiating festoons was a large fringed square of streamers, and there-were also hanging baskets filled- with yellow chrysanthemums. Bamboo palms, blue. hydrangeas, and chrysanthemums were arranged on the stage where the orchestra was seated.
A home-made supper/which was supplied by the committee, was brought into the hall on "wagons" and served informally.
This dance was arranged by the following committee:—Mrs. G. Littlejohn, president,- who was wearing a frock of ink blue tinsel-threaded crepe, with silver belt and buckle; Mrs. A. J. Taylor (secretary), Mrs. L. Hills, Mrs. E. J. Chatwin, Mrs. W. McKinstrey, Mrs. R. Thackwell, Mrs. J. Stewart, Mrs. A. L. Franks, Mrs. Stansfield, Mrs. S. Guy, and Mrs. R. J. Morgan.
