LONDON MEAT MARKET.

The Bank of Australasia is in receipt of the following cable, dated June 2, from its London Office: —

Frozen lambs: Last three weeks* prices firmer owing to better demand; position strengthened by gap in New Zealand arrivals and market continues firm. Frozen mutton: Demand restricted at the beginning of month and market somewhat easier; lately have been more inquiries for wethers which, together with reduced supplies, have caused hardening tendency. Ewes: Market continues dull, but Australian mutton selling freely. Frozen beef: Supplies negligible at nominal prices.
