BETTING WRANGLE

ASSOCIATION'S ATTITUDE

forbury "receives" Letter

(By Toleoraph.)

(Special to the "Evening Post.")

DUNEDIN, This Day.

The Forbury Park Trotting Club had before it a letter from the Canterbury Owners' and Breeders' Association advocating a reversion to ■ the singlepool system of betting. It was stated that a meeting of the association had been unanimously in favour of singlepool betting, and it was further emphasised that there was a strong feeling in favour of the old system among followers of the light-harness sport .generally. ' The win-and-place system had served its purpose as a novelty during the lean times of the depression, but had outlived its usefulness. The letter, to which there was a large^ number of signatures, concluded' with a remark that the customer is always right. The letter was simply received.
