WANGANUI, This Day. Although the collection in Wanganui for the King George Memorial Fund yesterday was confined to street collecting, the satisfactory sum of £ 149 4s 3d was raised. The committee had already £631 Is 9d in hand. With outstanding promises, it is hoped that Wanganui's contribution . will amount to over £700. ' ." . .

Last year the city and. district held a "queen" carnival to establish a health camp for children at Wanganui, and the result was that well over £700 was raised. Wanganui has, during the past year, contributed by these two channels over £1400 to the health camp movement.
