UNION AIRWAYS
THE AUCKLAND SERVICE
PALMERSTON CONNECTIONS
CBy Telegraph—Press Association.l
AUCKLAND, This Day,
A request for an alteration in. the proposed schedule of Union Airways' Auckland-Wellington service, to be inaugurated on June 26, is contained in a letter sent today by the president of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce, Mr. W. R. Fee.
The letter points out the need for the . provision of a one-day service from Auckland to Christchurch and Dunedin. It states that the fact that the north bound plane will connect at Palmerston , North with a plane for Dunedin, thus providing a one-day service from South Island centres to Auckland, has . given . the Chamber great satisfaction, but the need for a similar one:day. service, southwards from Auckland, still exists. An alteration to the proposed time-table tp enable a connection- with the southbound plane at Palmerston North would be greatly appreciated. The Chamber suggests departure from Auckland at 8.15 a.m. instead of noon, as proposed.
