KEEN DEMAND
SUPPLIES MAINTAINED
The present .keen demand for fish will be maintained for the next three months, according to the manager of one of the Wellington fish markets, who today that the best-selling months were • May, June, July, and August. '
All varieties of fish were selling well, particularly flat fish,' such as flounder, sole,. and John dory: Local • supplies were beings maintained and supplies were ' also. coming" forward from Nelson, French Pass, and Napier. -Boiling fish,'such as hapuka, hake, and ling, was. realising from fid to 7d lb and fiat fish in. first-class condition was bringing from 7d to 9d lb. Fresh rabbits were arriving in large quantities and the prices for ■ these ranged from Is Id to Is Gd a pair. ' ■ *
The oyster market was very, firm, .ho said. The, oysters were arriving In: excellent condition; in fact,, they were the best for some timo, and tho demand was ■ increasing with every shipment.
