Enacting a scene one day recently for his current David L. Leow comedy for RKO Radio release, "When's Your Birthday?" Joe E. Brown sat at a lunch counter conducted by Marian Marsh, and consumed three doughnuts, not to speak of two cups of coffee. Before it had been recorded satisfactorily, the scene was filmed six times, involving a total of eighteen doughnuts and twelve cups of coffee. Then the director dismissed the company for lunch. Brown and his" mongrel pup, Zodiac, which had appeared in the scenes and shared the doughnuts, took a long walk. ' . , '
