CANBERRA, June 1
The Administrator of the Mandated Territory of New Guinea, Brigadier-General W. R. McNicoll, reported tonight that a third volcano lias broken out near Vulcan Island in Rabaul Harbour. All three volcanoes are erupting vigorously but are no danger to Kokopu, the township fifty miles; distant to which refugees have been taken, and which is believed to be outside the danger zone. The Administrator-has declared a state of emergency, arid all white ■women and children are to be evacuated to Australia.
