A CHANCE TO HELP STILL
In the comparatively short time between the opening of the King George V Memorial Fund for children's health camps by the Prime Minister (Mr. Savage) on March 23 and the official closing date of the appeal tomorrow New Zealand generally seems to have risen to the occasion arid responded generously. White full figures are not yet, of course, available there appears to be a good prospect of the desired amount being realised, but this should not be taken as ground for abating final efforts to make sure that the largest possible sum is available for the purpose of placing the health camp movement in both islands on the soundest permanent footing. In principle it must be recognised that the more money is available, the greater iis the scope of the movement for the better health of the children who wil^l be the citizens of the future. As the (Acting Prime Minister (Mr. Fraser) put it in his final appeal: "The people of this country are living longer than their forefathers, but we must make sure that those years are worth living and life to be worth living must be healthy and vigorous." In the promotion of health it is universally admitted that the children's camps have done excellent work. (Wellington, which pioneered the I health camp, is under a special Obligation to see to its continuance, jand there is still an opportunity today for the benevolent citizen, who may be slow in starting, to come in handsomely at the finish.
