INCIDENT IN HOTEL
"You have a good Scotch name. You oughtn't to get into trouble like this," said Mr. E...-,D. Mosley, S.M., in tha Magistrate's Court yesterday to., John McDougall, seaman, aged 37, who was charged with refusing .to leave the Duke of Edinburgh Hotel,, and with being drunk. "But the barman hit me first," the defendant said. "Can you ,blame him, for getting In' first?" Mr.. Mosley.replied. , /
Evidence was; given rthat -the .defend^ ant had raised a lemonade bottle to strike the barman. McDoUgall was fined £2, in default, seven days' imprisonment. For being drunk.he was convicted and discharged. 1\
Votes of condolence were passed to Mrs. W. J. M. Larnach in the death of her sister, Miss Brandon, and: Mr. A. Mack on the loss of his father, Mr. W. T. Mack, at last evening's meeting of the Navy League. , , ,;• ■
