ASSOCIATION RULE

REPLACING PLAYERS

Permission has been received by cable from the English Football Association for its amateur team now touring New Zealand to observe the New Zealand Football Association's replacement rule in; jail, but the Test matches. "This announcement was made by Mr. Frank Campbell, vice-chairman of the council of the New Zealand Football Association, at its meeting last night.

When the team first arrived in New Zealand.the New Zealand Association's rule making mandatory the replacement of injured players up to and including the start of the second half 'was brought to their notice. One of 'the managers, Mr. C. Wreford Brown, said Mr. Campbell, was in favour of the replacements, but the other, Mr. T. Thome, was not. The New Zealand council accordingly cabled the English Football Association in Mr. Brown's name seeking permission for the team to observe the rule and the reply, was that the English Association was agreeable to it being observed in all but Test matches.

Also present at last night's meeting were' Messrs. H. H. A. Renai, W. L. Wilson, E. C. Hollis, F. Sanders, Wj J. Vaney, W. G. Bryce, B. Martin, and the1 secretary (Mr. Alf Williams).
