The British Department that looks after the estates of lunatics used to be called the Lunacy Department, and the colleagues of its officials nicknamed them "the Lunatics." This was considered undignified by those in authority, who, not long ago, set to work to devise a more stately title. They , thought up the imposing "Management and. Advisory Department." Unfortunately they failed to notice that the initial letters of this spell a word. The Department's nickname has not noticeably changed.
