WOMEN'S HOCKEY
ENGLISH TEAM'S VISIT
At a meeting of the executive of the New.Zealand Women's Hockey Association on Monday night it was decided to cable to the All England Women's Hockey Association inviting an international women's hockey team to tour New Zealand in 1938;
The players are to pay their own fares to New Zealand, but will be the guests of the New Zealand Women's Hockey Association during the tour of the Dominion. The team will comprise players of the highest international standard and some interesting hockey should be seen.. It is expected that the team will arrive in New Zealand about the end of May or early in June and the tour will be a comprehensive one covering both islands and occupying about six weeks. The team will then travel to Australia and take part in the inter-State games. It is hoped that the public will accord the visitors the same support, as was shown when the last team from England visited here in 1913-14. .
