VISITORS TO LONDON

DELIGHTFUL PARTIES

."Plenty of plans have been made for | the entertainment of overseas visitors, ,who should return home after the Coronation season with a very happy | memory of British hospitality," says a writer in "The Queen." "Violet, Duchess of Rutland, is giving up eight weeks of the summer from May 3 onwards to the organisation of a temporary club for the overseas visitors, with a different hostess for each day. Having christened herself 'Overseas Rendezvous,' she is arrarging for a big house in Mayfair to house these club members, and is to have Lord Doverdale's home in Ennismore Gardens as an overflow.

"Another Duchess, the young chatelaine of Arundel Castle, is to entertain a big party of Dominion visitors to a garden party in the castle grounds in June, and Lady Leconfield will give a party at Petworth House, another famous Sussex country seat. Sir Paul and Lady Pa,tricia Latham's house, Hurstmonceaux, with its moat and battlements, will be the scene of a party in May or June, and Sir Philip Sassoon will be entertaining both at Lympne and at Cockfosters."
