EVENT AT INDIANAPOLIS

(Received June 1, 11.30 a.m.) INDIANAPOLIS, May 31. Wilbur Shaw, driving a Gilmour Special, won the 500-mile_ inotorw race with an average speed of 113.829 miles per hour and a time of 4 hours 24 minutes 8 seconds. Ralph Hepburn, (113.565 miles per hour, 4 hours 24 minutes 10 seconds) was second. After Shaw had finished, a driver named Floyd Davis crashed into a wall, fie and his mechanic were injured, but not seriously.
