TREATMENT FOR EPIDEMIC VICTIMS
Waiting on the discussion at the Hospital Board meeting in connection with the delay'in the erection of a pool and sunroorri for the treatment of children who have been victims of the paralysis epidemic, a correspondent (E.A.C., Seatoun) states:—"We find that the Wellington total'alone ipr the King George V Memorial Fund is over £8000. Surely in an emergency such as the infantile epidemic has created it would be possible to release £ 700-odd of this total for the immediate erection of the obviously very necessary pool and sunroom. There' may be technical difficulties in arranging to secure the necessary sum from the King George V Fund, but seeing that the King George V Fund is definitely for the maintenance of health camps for children in New Zealand, why not use some of the money now for tHe benefit of the victims of the 'epidemic, rather than hold matters up and thereby jeopardise the chances of complete recovery of some of tfie victims?" , * '■ -
