The Wellington Juvenile Amateur Theatrical -Society iS 'making steady prdgress under: the patronage of.; Sir James; Steel Maitland ;and ' tlie able direction of its Committee arid ducer, Mr. L. M. Harbord, who has many successes to his credit, including the recent pahtomime "Aladdin." The society has for its object the training [of talented children in all branches of theatrical ■ art. There jare two classes of membership. The active membership caters for children who in return for a subscription of Is per week .receive the-benefits-of-excellent training in that branch of the art to which each is suited. Honorary membership costing 10s 6d : per annum is available to interested parents' and other adults. Like all children's organisations the society has been severely handicapped just at its inception by the paralysis epidemic, and it is hoped that increased interest will now be shown in the delightful juvenile entertainments to be presented. The first production sponsored by the society is "Embankment Nights," Which takes place at the Concert Chamber, Town Hall, tomorrow evening, commencing at 8 o'clock.
