WHITE PINE
EXPORTS PROHIBITED
UNION'S CONTENTIONS *
The exportation of white pine or kahikatea timber is prohibited without the consent of the' Minister of Customs under an Order in Council published last night. This action has been taken in order, that New Zealand requirements, particularly those of the dairying industry, may have first call on the remaining supplies of white pine, large quantities of which have been exported to Australia in recent years.
