RUGBY LEAGUE

The Rugby League match between St George and Central at Newtown Park tomorrow is expected to provide one of the most entertaining club matches of the season. Central defeated St George 16-12 in the first round of the Wellington premiership competition, but St. George's matchwinning display last week against Randwick points to the possibility of the previous decision being reversed. The Wellington selectors will shortly announce the representative team to play Auckland, and players in tomorrow's match who will be under close observation include J. Cootcs (New Zealand representative), A. Broadhead (ex-Richmond Rovers and Auckland representative), J. Wilson (ex-Mount Albert. Auckland), A. O'Connor, W. Spencer, C. Mulholland, C. Berry, and A. Swanberg. At the Randwick school ground Petcne will play Randwick.
