Plans for the coining planting season were discussed at the.monthly meeting of the committeeVpf the Wellington Beautifying,'jSo'ciety/ ,; Captain' S. S. Holm was an the chair. '
The first fathering for .tree-planting is to take:place 'on the afternoon of June 23 at-.a'■''site to be selected and announced: later. It is hoped that Ministers of the .Crown and prominent will-tak*..part. \ Subsequent plantings will be arranged during the next few months, and a feature will be made of the occasion on Arbor Day in August. In selecting .localities for tree planting, consideration . will be given to the. Jlutt,Road.: and. Point Halswell, 'areas'.■' v In! the nursery are about 25,00ftyburig trees, which are making very;'satisfactory growth'.1 At the meeting it was decided to request the City Council to plant Norfolk pines as far as Courtenay Place in continuation of the row of trees growing on the harbour front at Oriental Bay. -
