SUMMONS CASES
Summons cases were heard before Mr. J. H. Luxford, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court today. Oil a charge of Sunday trading, John George Hook and Joseph McDonald were each fined 10s and costs. George Henry Skegga was fined 10s and costs for casting offensive matter in a public place. Pleading guilty to making two false statements for the purpose of obtaining benefit under the Employment Promo[tion Act, Herbert Michael Inkster was | fined £7 and costs on one charge, and was convicted and discharged on the ! other. William James Dix Barnes, a wharf labourer, aged 40, was convicted of committing obscene exposure, and was remanded for a week for sentence. :. Johnston and Co., auctioneers, will sell household furnishings at their mart, 8 Willeston Street, on Monday next at I'm p.m.
