■II » PARENTS'ASSOCIATION In the report to be presented at the' annual meeting of the: Scots College Parents' Association next week, the president, Mr. H. R. Biss, describes the valuable work of the association during the past year. The concreting around the school paths had provided the boys with that final comfort which they had for so long needed, and which both the principal and the sports master had regarded as a necessity. "The equipping of the pipe band with uniforms," continues the report, "was also undertaken by the association, besides the remodelling of the gymnasium and the building of the stage and buffet. Recently, when there was a demand to provide work for the unemployed, the association was able, with the assistance of the labour provided by the Unemployment Board, to level a large area at the back of the school building. "A special appeal was made in August, as a result of which the association received donations to the extent of £34 3s. The association's dances, held as usual in the school gymnasium, netted £21 7s 3d, and sundry other efforts produced, clear of expenses, £61 6s. Shortly before Christ. mas a highly-successful gala day was held and brought into the association s funds £105 16s 4d. Other items on the receipts side of the account are subscriptions £10 15s 6d and. donations £2 2s 6d. These receipts added to the credit balance of £40 17s 8d brought forward from the previous year have enabled the association to meet all its expenses, pay the full cost of the baths improvements, £234 lls, and to close the year with a credit balance of £28 2s 2d."
