PALMERSTON N., This Day.

Rising at 3 o'clock this morning to attend to her baby crying in another room Mrs. Holland, who resides in an eight-roomed house on Rangitikei Line, found the place full of smoke, and fire raging at the' back. She immediately roused her husband and with the baby they were able to escape with a few clothes. The fire had been burning for some time as motorists who had seen it reached the front door as Mr. and Mrs. Holland made their exit. . ■
