BREAKING 70

HANDICAPPING HELPS

LOCKE'S yiCTORt

Breaking 70 is becoming a habit with the leading Wellington golfers, and this is not so. often seen elsewhere as to disturb the city's claim 'to be the home of New Zealand's best. One of 'the -reasons is the greater number of clubs in the district, and the other is tHe competitive spirit which has animated even the newest of clubs. Handicaps are now watched as never before, indeed it will not be long before men's handicaps-are as well checked1 up on as those of; the L.G.TJ.^.ariy member of which can be trusted to play, to handicap in any event. It is pleasing to see golfers ..who do 65 nets (or less) being ■ dealt with within the next day or two.
