An anticyclone of slight | intensity hai persisted over most of the Dominion and pressure 7s still rather low over the eastern .Taanian Sea, a shallow depression being centred, this morning west of tlie Auckland Peninsula. Tin's terday but during'the niglit cloud increased generally. Rain has since fallen in the northern and north-eastern portions of the North Island, in the extreme south, and also ,at scatered'places In the Cook Strait area. ' In tile far north falls have been rather heavy. Northeasterly or northerly breezes have predominated and had freshened somewhat in the Auckland Province by this morning.
