DE LUXE THEATRE.

"More Than a Secretary" and "Conflict."

Continuing in the tradition of "It Happened One Night," "Mr. Deeds Goes to Town," and "Theodora Goes Wild," the Columbia Studios will present tomorrow at the De Luxe Theatre a new comedy-drama entitled "More Than a Secretary," with Jean Arthur and George Brent in the star roles. In addition to the popular principals, the picture has an exceptionally strong supporting cast including Lionel Stander, Reginald Denny, Ruth Donnelly, Dorothea Kent, and Geraldine Hall. Now one of the screen's foremost comediennes, Miss Arthur tries her hand at another comedy role in Than a Secretary," with George Brent appearing as a fine foil in the first light role he has had since "Living on Velvet." Lovely Jean Rogers appears opposite John Wayne in "Conflict," which is based on Jack London's .famed story, "The Abysmal Brute," recognised as one of the finest action stories written by the late author. Photographed entirely in the rugged grandeur of the Sierra-Nevada Mountains of California, 900 miles from Hollywood, "Conflict" tells its virile, fast-moving story against a background of Nature's own magnificent beauty. The. picture combines drama, suspense, high excitement, and romance into a spirited action story. The supporting programme is excellent.
