T^OTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the - 1' Wellington City Council proposes at a meeting to be held at the Town Hall, Wellington on Thursday, the 10th June, 1937, to make and levy under the provisions of the Rating- Act 1925, and all other Acts and powers-enabling it in thai behalf, the following rates for the pericid commencing on the Ist day of April, 193 i, and ending on the 31st day of March, 1938, namely:— GENERAL RATE. 1. A General Rate for the general purposes of the City, under the provisions ot Section 77 of the Municipal Corporations Act 1933 of three-pence and four hundred and fifteen eight-hundredths of a penny (3 -Jl^ 00 d) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property within the lt>- LIBRARY RATE. -2. A Library Rate under the provisions of Section 92 of the Municipal Corporations Act 1933 of eighty-nine eight-hund-redths of a penny (*>% oO d) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property within the City. HOSPITAL AND CHARITABLE AID RATE. 3. A rate under the provisions of Section 52 of the Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act 1926 of one-penny and twentythree* eight-hundredths of a penny (1 2%00d) in tne Pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property within the City, such rate . being required to^ meet the contribution payable by the' Council to the Wellincton Hospital Board. WATER RATE. 4. A Water Rate (ordinary supply) under the provisions of Section 84 of the Municipal Corporations Act 1933, as under:— (l) On all land and dwelling-houses in the City to which water is supplied, a rate of One'penny and three-hundred and fifty-two eight-hundredths of a penny (1 3B7fcoo<D in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value). Provided that if such rate would produce less than ten shillings in respect of any such land or dwelling-house, the rate shall be a rate of ten shillings. (2) One-half of the water rate mentioned above on all land and dwelling-houses- in the City to which .-water can be supplied, but is not supplied, if situate within one hundred yards of any part of the water-works, and on all buildintrs other than dwelling-houses. ALL THE ABOVE RATES WILL BE PAYABLE IN ONE INSTALMENT ON THE 2nd DAY OF AUGUST, 1937. . CONSOLIDATED SPECIAL RATE. 5. The Wellington Citjf- Council hereby makes and levies under the' provisions of the Wellington City Empowering and Special Rates Consolidation Act 1923, and the ! Wellington City\ Empowering and Special Rates Consolidation Act 1933, a Consolidated Special Rate of two-pence and fifty-seven eight-hiindredths of a penny (2 s%ni)d) in. the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimnroved value) of all rateable property in the City of Wellington, for the purpose of providing the moneys necessary to meet the charges mentioned in Sub-section 2 ol Section 3 of the Wellington City Empowering and Special Rates Consolidation Act 1923 as amended hy the Wellington City Empowering .and Special Rates Consolidation Act 1933, payable vn one instalment on the 2nd day of August, 19-37. : .
