Kirby (South Africa), 1-6, 6-2, 6-2, 6-1; Cejnar (Czechoslovakia) beat J. Brugnon (France), 6-3, 6-3, 4-6, 6-2; C. E. Hare (Great Britain) beat Kho Sin Kie (China), 6-4, 4-6, 6-3, 4-6, .6-2; R. Journu (France) beat G. de Stefani (Italy), 7-5, 6-2, 6-1. Third round: C. R. D. Tuckey (Great Britain) beat M. Bernard (France) 6-1, 6-3, 6-3.
