ANOTHER FACTORY SOLD

FIRM AT TAUPIRI (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, May 25. ! Acting on the recommendation of the Executive Commission of Agriculture, the Taupiri Dairy Company has disposed of its factory at Taupiri to a group of co-operative concerns. This is the second purchase to be carried out in the Waikato, the Waikato Valley, Dairy Company, Limited, another proprietary firm which operated with Frankton as its headquarters, having been transferred in similar manner to co-operative companies which cover the same territory. -*..' ■• .' The purchase pf the Taupiri factory will affect about 350 suppliers, wha are expected to-divert :their. .supplies, to the co-operative .companies when th,e change-over takes place. 'The collects ing- services conducted by these con^ cer,ns already ■reticulate the. area! which was ,also, served in the past by. the proprietary company. " The ..sale 'of the Taupiri . company's other large butter factory, on the northern bank of the Waikato River at Tuakau to its suppliers was pro-, viously. announced, and the settlers an to assume control on June 1. The recent sales of factories arm. goodwill are in line with the zoning j policy advocated by the executive ! commission. A system of zoning among the co-operative concerns on the basis, pf giving producers a reasonable choice of supply is to be considered.
