Mrs. Todd's was of pale gold satin, and had a wide black belt; Mrs. Tripe's: was, black ring velvet; Mrs. Whyte's was made in.tunic style, the top being of floral material and the skirt of black satin; and small white .flowers outlined the pointed Peter Pan collar and short sleeves "of Miss Nathan's frock of navy blue ninon and she wore a cluster of the same flowers in her hair. Miss Nathan is to be Miss Pearce's chief bridesmaid. ' The five othei bridesmaids, the Misses Ida, Hanlon. Mona Blair (Gisborne), Judy Knight (Masterton)/ Letty Levien (England), and Joan William? MEMBER OF PIONEER FAMILY The death occurred on Saturday at her residence, "Came,". Scaly Street, Timaru, of Mrs. Jessy Rhodes, widow of Robert Heaton Rhodes, in her seventy-first year, states the Christchurch "Press." Well known throughout the Dominion and in North and South Canterbury in particular, Mrs. Rhodes had innumerable friends who will regret to hear of her death. In her earlier days she was extremely well known for her many activities on public bodies, and during her whole life was noted for her kindly and cheerful personality. Mrs. Rhodes was. the youngest of nine children of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Robert Bidwill, and was born at Pihautea, Featherston, on November 7, 1866. Her father was a son of Mr. J. G. jßidwill, of Exeter, England, and her mother was Catherine, eldest daughter
