A MISSIONER'S PAINTINGS

A special exhibition of water colour and oil paintings is being neldl this week in the Bowen House gallery under the auspices of the New Zealand Artists' Group. The painter is Mr. C. E. Ferris, the Church of England Maori Missioner of Pelorus Sound. In his oil paintings he chiefly-depicts New Zealand bush and hill scenery, with glimpses of rugged coast lines, ana he meets with considerable success in ■ some of his studies. The watercolours are mainly of ecclesiastical and collegiate buildings in Dunedin. and ; Christchurch.
