Thpre was a large attendance at the last reunTon of the Cercle Litteraire Francais. The programme was allotted to Miss U. Tewsley and Professor G W. yon Zedlitz. and the result was VeMrs haP(f" Stephens contributed a Schumann-Liszt number and Valse in A Major" (Levitzki) and Mr Martins violin items were also much appreciated Dr. A. D. Carbery supplied a humorous causerie on the .s, ubJecJ: °? "Cafe" and showed himself a most capable entertainer. „.,,,, "Deux Converts," Sacha Guitry's delightful play, was performed, by Mr. A W. Griffin, Madame E Fmlayson. Mr. Berendsen. and Mr. Alan Thorn, and-found general appreciation. Before the play Professor G. W. yon Aealitz gave a hiahly-interesting lcclurette on Sacha Guitry. in thePP urs ° which he' referred to he talent of Redmond Phillips, of .Wellington. ' Owing to the absence of Mr Balham, president, Professor Boyd Wilson presided. Madame Bendall directed the conversation circle and. Miss Huntington supervised supper. Among the visitors was Mr. Marcel Catulle. Madame Logre received.
