ROTARY CLUB
MR. R. H. NESBITT'S ADDRESS
Some of the lighter moments in a trade commissioner's life were recounted by Mr. K. H. Nesbitt, for three years Australian Trade Commissioner in New Zealand, in: the course of an entertaining address to members of the Wellington Rotary Club at the weeklyluncheon today. The president (Mr. Harry E. Anderson) stated that this was Mr. Nesbitt's last appearance at a Rotary Club; gathering prior to his departure for Australia to take up his position as chairman of the New South Wales Milk Board. After telling of an Australian who asked him to help him out of a New Zealand goal; of another earnest person who threatened to do something about sending the New Zealand Squadron over to' Sydney to blow the bridge to bits, because they wouldn't take New Zealand potatoes; and of the charming but stone-deaf old lady with a thirst for information about the Australian immigration laws, and' other, amusing fragments, Mr. Nesbitt expressed his appreciation of the help he had received from members of the club during his term in the Dominion, and the debt of gratitude that he felt he owed them.
